Step 1: Initial Contact and Quote
The short form directly above this is where you can introduce yourself, explain what you’re looking for, and give us a sense of the general budget that you’re wanting to stick to, if you have one. It doesn’t have to be long, it’s just your “hello”, opening up a dialogue between us to see if we’re the best fit for your needs.
Once you have submitted the form, we will get back to you with an estimated quote for the commission*. If we aren’t right for you, the process ends there. If you decide you’d like to continue, keep reading!
*Note that while we do everything we can to be as accurate as possible with the initial estimate, it is common to have some level of variation once we narrow down specific details about your piece during the design process.
Step 2: Design Visit
Once you’ve decided you want to move forward with us, you will put down a 5% deposit, and then we will organize a time for our craftsman to come to your house (or, if you are out of state, get on a video call) to assess measurements, observe your house’s design style, and most importantly, sit down for an honest, face-to-face chat about you, your lifestyle, your taste, and your vision for the project.

Step 3: Design Concepts
Design brief secured, the next step is where we will bring the vision from abstract to concrete, providing you with two to three design options, and refining from there.
Your satisfaction with the final piece is our top priority, so we will keep tailoring the design until you are 100% happy with what you see. Additional sit-downs will be organized as and when needed, to make sure you are involved with the design every step of the way.
The last step of the design stage is a scale model of your piece, so you have a tangible example of what your commission will look like once it is done. Once you are happy that there are no more tweaks you want, you will pay a 50% upfront deposit (deducting the original 5% quote deposit), and we will begin work on the piece itself. The remainder of the balance will either be spread out across stages of the project completion, or paid in full upon delivery of your piece, all depending on the size and scale of the overall project.
Step 4: Project Creation
Once we’ve decided on a design, you can sit back and relax! All that’s left is for us to meticulously create your bespoke piece, using the beautiful hardwoods you’ve selected, and the tried-and-true joinery techniques we know by heart. The time it takes to complete a commission varies based on the scope of the project, but we will confirm timelines with you before beginning work, and stay in contact with you along the way.
Step 5: Delivery and Installation
Once the piece is complete, we will deliver it to your door and perform any installation necessary. All thats left is for you to enjoy your piece and show it off to all your friends
